Aisling Lakehouse – Farrah & Zach

The lake is one of the things that rings true in their relationship. No matter where they may be – either in a rocky space unsure of what the future held or on solid ground knowing that ultimately they would be together – coming back to the lake in both physical and mental space has shaped their relationship greatly.

At a lake is where their paths literally first crossed at summer camp in the Muskokas. She was taking a homesick camper on a little “heart to heart” walk and he was leading his troop of grade school boys on a little exploratory hike.  As their paths crossed on the shore of the lake they caught each other’s eyes and hearts and the rest they say is history.  Although that first lakeside encounter was over a decade ago and their life paths have taken them in both different and similar directions. It’s always been the lake that has held significant and life changing moments for them.

She met his family officially for the first time at his parents cottage on a small northern lake one summer and was welcomed instantly into their family.  It was on the the shores of another lake on a dreary fall day where she decided it might be best for them to take a break for awhile because the distance between their colleges and lives at the time felt like too much. It was on the beach at a mutual friend’s birthday party the following summer that they reconnected for hours around the bonfire.  It was on the floating dock at his family’s cottage that Thanksgiving under a starlit sky that he asked her to be his wife.  And so it had to be near a lake where they would celebrate their union.

One beautiful September day, on the shores of Lake Aikman at Aisling Lakehouse they promised their love for one another surrounded by their closest family and friends.  They savoured their celebration on the peaceful little beach by sharing their first meal as husband and wife at a private sweetheart table where they broke bread and began the rest of their lifelong journey together.
